In any industrial sector uses various measuring devices. One such device is a pyrometer (thermometer). If you decide pyrometer laser to buy, you should carefully consider some of its technical characteristics. Here we focus on two:
- Performance (recommended less than a second);
- Method of targeting (laser, optical).
Performance
The principle of operation of the pyrometer assumes instantaneous temperature measurement of the object (subject). Therefore, these devices must meet certain requirements for speed. If you take the average, the performance of modern models of industrial thermometers is second (maximum).
The period counted at the input of the sensor device since the abrupt changes until the output reaches the set value (possible deviation to 2%), considered the time.
Today on the market of thermometers are a lot of different brands, but the best performance of the laser pyrometer model BALTECH TL-0215C.

Method targeting thermometer
Simple devices are used to measure the temperature of objects located at a short distance. Because such thermometers do not possess adaptations for aiming. If the distance increases, the measuring spot diameter is large, which will affect the measurement accuracy.
To perform the measurements at large distances and apply sophisticated thermometers, equipped with laser pointers, optical viewfinders, and other special tools for precise targeting (for example, specialized models BALTECH TL-0219CC).
Cheap laser sights have a single beam and provide an opportunity to determine a point near the center of the measured spot. The beam of sight of the pyrometer will not coincide with the optical axis of the lens. So the laser pointer will move at a fixed distance (approximately 1-2 cm) relative to the center of the zone of sensitivity of the device. This effect is called “parallax”.
In the coaxial laser sight (improved model) the beam emerging from the center of the lens enters the center.
Double laser aiming point and the location of the measuring area, and its size, but at small distances the size is too high. Cross-laser (dual laser with intersecting rays) is used in short throw the thermometers to detect the position of the focal length of the lens.
Circular laser sights are equipped with several rays, can clearly define the measurement zone of the device. Forming a hyperboloid of revolution, these scopes accurately represent at different distances the measurement zone. Therefore they are called the exact circular lasers.
