- Optical resolution (produced products with resolutions from 2:1 to 600:1);
- Range (maximum from -50C to 4000C degrees) of the measured temperature;

Optical resolution
Optical resolution (indicator sight) thermometer is the ratio of the diameter of the light spot (D) and distance (S) to the object of measurement. Included with each thermometer comes with detailed technical documentation, which either specifies a specific value of the index-of-sight, or is the radiation pattern. The best model at cost with a factor-of-sight 50:1 today is the pyrometer BALTECH TL-0208C.
If the sighting index denoted as K, then the optical resolution is calculated according to the formula K = S/D (sometimes is used the reciprocal, D/S). With the increase of sight enables the device to distinguish smaller objects (the objects). The accuracy of the measurement will not depend on the distance to the object (the object) until the object size is larger than the diameter of the measured spot. With increasing diameter of spot the infrared thermometer will begin to accept radiation from other nearby objects in the surroundings. This characteristic of the pyrometer is determined by the working wavelength (8-14мкм). If you want to measure high temperatures, it is recommended to use pyrometers operating at shorter wavelengths (3-6mkm). Because with increasing temperature the emission spectrum will shift to shorter frequencies. However, the working wave length is rarely indicated in the specifications of the device, because many users it is not so important. But the temperature range in characteristics is required. emissivity simple models have the fixed number. This is the factor equal to 0.95, because the workplace and at home often need to perform temperature measurement of objects with such a figure. Most of the surrounding objects around us have such a coefficient of thermal radiation. But if operations are conducted with light, the polished or shiny surfaces, such thermometers will give a significant error. This applies to all types thermal imagers.
Here advanced device with the ability to adjust the ratio. This will allow minimizing the measurement error. But the most expensive models have a built-in table showing the emissivity of different materials.
